Faults that have been listed
I by the people of the present set-
up in the administrative units
include:
1. Too many very small dis-

2. Too many high schools
which do not have pupils enough
to justify a varied curriculum.
3. Transportation routes are
not ■well mapped out and the
systems are not carefully super-
vised.
4. Too many small classes in
small' and middle-sized high

Counties has' been suggested to
the Gilmer-Aikin Committee.
The Gilmer-Aikin Committee
has not made aqy proposals to
the people of Texas. Such propos-
als will be made only after care-

The officers are completing a
twofveek training period here
with the 401st Bomb Group of
San Antonio.- The 401st, which is
commanded by Cai. Harry G.
Libby, is a component of the
44th Air Division, presently locat-
ed at ^Austin and commanded by
Brig. Gen. -John M. Bennett, Jr.
The Reserve Officers are schedul-
ed to complete the two-week
training period Saturday.
During the two-day tour,
officers were introduced
familiarized with such AACS
commuication facilities as the
Carswell Grotind-Air Radio Sta-
tion, the Control Tower, thu In-
terphone and Teletype Center,
which operates .in conjunction
with the AACS here, and observ-
ed an actual landing by instru-
ments of an Air Force C-54 from
inside the Carswell Ground Co?-
troy Approach Unit These’ facil-
ities are presently being manned
by Flight Service Officers and
personnel of the 105th AACS
Squadron here.
