With the comiiiK of the now year,

me.eti this need prints have come to
the fores'i'ouimI and are shown in bril
iiant hues on tlark background.
After years of conservative prints,
there lias arisen this season an as-
sortment of amusinit and exception-
nlly interesting designs. The amus-
iiltr nuality of those new patterns is
centered in the "Trick" motif which
is the subject of the design. Tn the
fi.-its have been used extensive-
ly nn .ubjects for prints, and they
till fire, but vegetables lire the new-
est inspirations for designs. Radishes
strawberries and !my root vegetables
are seen in tiny outlines in light col-
ors aeaiust dark backgrounds.
Kloral prints are exceptionally
lovely, according to girls at Texas
State College for Women, (CIA).
There is one based on bluebells and
another on large calla lilies. The lat-
ter ratther stiff flower really is grace-
ful and slender when printed on a
dark jaccpiard crepe for evening wear.
Daisies with colored centers, shasta
daisies, African daisies, asters and
cosmos are shown in profile, full view
and angle deign*. Their variations
are innumberable, and they make ex-
citing patterns for afternoon frocks.
The new prints are designed for
every type of dress. You see them
about the house in the morning, a;
luncheon engagements uptown, at af-
ternoon bridge parties and in the
evening at forn\Al affaire. They are
simple and young, and call for very
little trimming. What trimming i;
used consists of solid materials in
blending hue*, patent leather cloth,
metal buttons and suede bindings
