Pvt. James B. Adams Sl/c John Quincy Adams
Mr. and Mrs. L. N. Adams of 904 North Buffalo street have two
sons, who are in service for their country. Pvt. James B. Adams is
serving with the U. S. Army in the North African battle area, while
Seaman First Class John Quincy Adams is somewhere in the Pacific
with the U. S. Navy.
Bom boys attended Cleburne High School and went into service
within a month of each other. Pvt. Adams joined the army on July
16. 1942, while his brother, Seaman Adams, enlisted in the" navy on
Aug. 17, 1942.
Pvt. Adams received his training at Camp Robinson, Little Rock,
Ark.; Fort Dix, N. J., and Fort Hamilton, Brooklyn, N. Y., and his
brother, Seaman Adams, was trained at San Diego Naval Training Sta-
tion in California.
Neither boy has been home since going into service. Pvt. Adams
was sent overseas in December of last year and writes that he likes it
fine over there, and in a recent letter Seaman Adams says “Ditto” for
the navy. <

Dewey V. Jiles cf 116 West Wardville street, entered service together
on Nov. 25, 1940, and have been together since then. At last report,
they were serving with the army in Sicily.
Both attended the Cleburne Schools and were students when they
enlisted. They received training at Camp Bowie, Camp Blanding and
Camp Edwards. Their father served overseas in World War I.
