Soups have always been the true test of a good cook, but
fortunately today’s homemaker gets lots of help from the
market shelves. However, the homemaker can add her per-
sonal touch to a mundane soup by adding just a few in-
gredients. The addition of smooth peanut butter and
chopped chives puts this commercially packaged pea soup
into the gourmet category. It can be served as the flrst
course of a guest dinner or be the main dish for the chil-
dren’s lunch. The peanut butter is high in nutrition value,
and the youngsters will love the flavor.
PETER PANSOUP
(Makes 5 io 4 servings)
1 envelope (2’,4 ounces) de-
hydrated smoky green pea
soup mix
3 cups waler
14 cup milk
In saucepan saute chives in butter about 1 minute. Blend
in peanut butter; stir to soup-mix Gradually, add water,
stirring constantly, until soup comes to a boil. E_ ‘___
partially cover; simmer 10 minute*, stirring frequently,
in milk, heat to serving temperature. Gurnish with, i
tional chives, as desired.
Helping to make the
shbw a success and help
Eddie in his job was the
fact that the Rodeo Cow-
boys Association had ap-
proved the rodeo and
famous rodeo cowboy Jim
Shoulders had agreed to
furnish stock for the
show.
