is coastal, bermuda planting. Farm-
ers and ranchero are learning what
this fine grass can do. There is no
doubt about it, coastal bermuda
will out produce any other grass
grown to date in this area if given
"coastal management.” By “Coas-
tal management" is meant proper

er; than 6 inches in height. Six in-
ches of top growth left on coastal
at all times during the year will
keep the ground cooler in summer
and warmer in winter. Alter frost,
the six inch top will eventually die,

To get high production from
your coastal bermuda hey, the tech-

then after coastal is cut the first
time apply up to 300 pounds of
33 1/3% ammonium nitrate and 200
pounds of 60% muriate of potash.
Then apply another 300 pounds of
ammonium each time coastal is
cut.
The Renner Experiment Station
has found that 400 pounds of 10-
20-10 will give 32.89 return for
each dollar spent for fertilizer.
On the other, 200 pounds will only
give 31.59 for each dollar spent
for fertilizer.
