new plans and ideas to
better help the com-
munity and commu-
nity health, Thompson
has an all-year-long
fitness program idea
she is also working on.
"I’m also going
to try to start a year-
round fitness pro-
gram," Thompson said.
"Using different volun-
teers that are certified
to teach classes and
fitness."
She was ap-
proved by the Shelby
County Commission-
ers Court for her new
position.
"I’ve been
here my whole life,"
Thompson said. "I ap-
preciate the County
Judge and the County
Commissioners for al-
lowing me the oppor-
tunity to be the County
Extension Agent-Fam-
ily for Shelby County
and I look forward to
working with all the
businesses and all the
people here in Shelby
County."

The Fannie Brown Booth Library will host a book
signing for Mr. Tommy Doggett of Center on No-
vember 23rd, 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. His book,
“BEFORE I GO: PERSONALITIES OF SHELBY
COUNTY,” has stories of persons from Shelby
County and surrounding areas. Mr. Doggett will
have copies of his book available for purchase.
