Charlie Robert Alexander, 96, of North Wilkes-
boro, passed away Monday, Oct. 13, 2014 at Wilkes
Senior Village.
Private funeral services were held with the Rev.
Tim Pruitt officiating. Visitation was Thursday, Oct.
16 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Reins-Sturdivant Fu-
neral Home.
He was born August 13, 1918 in Wilkes County to
Samuel Thompson Alexander and Emma Dillard Al-
exander. He was a member of Double Creek Baptist
Church.
Mr. Alexander was preceded in death by his par-
ents; wife, Ruth Mae Johnson Alexander and one sis-
ter, Martha Alexander Pankow.
He is survived by his daughter, Judy Alexander
Slone husband, Bob, of Greensboro, N.C.; sons, Ben-
ny S. Alexander and wife, Sue, of North Wilkesboro,
N.C., Paul S. Alexander and wife, Joann, of Center
and Charles R. Alexander of North Wilkesboro, N.C.;
grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; brother,
Roy Alexander of North Wilkesboro, N.C.
Honorary pallbearers were Dale Alexander, Dal-
ton Alexander, Sam Shumate, Caleb Shumate, Jody
Miller and Troy Tunstall.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jour-
ney of Grace Church, C/O Linda Jenkins, 403 Sher-
wood Forest Drive, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659.

Jeanne Marcelle Henry
1919-2014
Jeanne Marcelle Henry died Oct 9, 2014.
She was born June 28, 1919 in d’Ecommoy, France
to John Hendrick Roberts and Marcelle Naomi Des-
mouliere. She met her spouse, Fred Henry, at a dance
at UT while she was attending college. They were
married in five months and she devoted most of her
life to being a wife and mother of three. Her style and
social graces, her famous cooking and lovely needle
work will never be forgotten. Most importantly, her
faith in Jesus Christ allows us, her family, to be con-
fident and comforted in her eternal heavenly destiny
and of our future reunion.
The family would like thank all of her gifted, lov-
ing individual care givers and the loving staffs at
ComForCare, Sheltering Arms Day Care Center, and
Compassionate Care Hospice, all in Houston.
Ms. Henry is survived by her sons, William Hen-
drick Henry and wife, Ginny, and John Robert Henry
and, wife, Debbie.

Bobbie Anderson Brinson
1931-2014
Bobbie Anderson Brinson, 83, of Timpson, passed
away Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014, in Nacogdoches.
Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m., Thursday,
Oct. 16, at Taylor Funeral Home Chapel in Timpson
with Rev. Elmer Mathews and Rev. George Grace of-
ficiating. Visitation will begin at 6:30 p.m. preceding
the service.
She was born September 3, 1931, in Rusk County.
She was the daughter of the late Jewell Bernice and
Maud (Childs) Anderson. After graduating from Mt.
Enterprise High School, she attended Lon Morris Ju-
nior College. In 1954 in Gary, she married the late
John Thomas Brinson. She spent the remainder of
her life as a wife, mother, grandmother, and poultry
farm operator.
She is survived by her son, Frank Brinson of Timp-
son; daughters, Pam Franklin and husband, Larry, of
Timpson and Cynthia Brinson and partner, Carol Brin-
son, of Timpson; brother, C. E. “Sonny” Anderson and
wife, Janice, of Longview; sisters, Nell Seelbach of
Nacogdoches, Glenda Golemon and husband, Dan, of
Dallas; Marjory Gregory of Arlington, and Ann Davis
and husband, Bob, of Long Branch; granddaughter,
L’erin Brinson and great grandchildren, Colton Miles
Carr and John Tristan Franklin.

Willie Mae Fenley, 87, of Center, passed away
Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014 at Holiday Nursing Home.

She was born August 9, 1927 in Shelby County to
Willie T. Bullock and Kizze Mae (Richardson) Bullock.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Willie T.
and Kizze Mae Bullock; husband, Elva Fenley; son,
Robert Glen Phillips; son, Charles Ray Bittick; grand-
daughter, Regina Simonson; grandson, Roger Phil-
lips; brother, Roy Bullock; step-sons; Elton Fenley
and wife, Ruth, Lamar Fenley and wife, Frances,
Billy Jo Fenley and Zeno Fenley and step-daughter,
Thelma Fenley.
She is survived by her sister, Ruby Bullock of Cen-
ter; brother, Robert Bullock; daughter-in-law, Delores
Phillips of Carthage; great-granddaughter, Ciji Simon-
son of Carthage; great-grandson, Shawn Simonson of
Carthage; great-great-grandsons, Kaden Ridgeway of
Beckville, Jaxon Bagley of Carthage; numerous step
granddaughters; step-grandsons; step-great-grand-
sons; step-great-granddaughters; and niece, Cathy
Casey and husband, Rick.

Odessa J. Powdrill, 93, of Garrison, passed away
Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014 at Garrison Nursing Home in
Garrison.
Services will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, Oct. 17 at
Garrison Funeral Home in Garrison. Interment will
follow at Powdrill Cemetery in Shelby County. Visita-
tion will be held prior to the funeral service, begin-
ning at 1:30 p.m.
She was born August 21, 1921 in Garrison to Wil-
liam T. Strong and Era Pullen Strong. She was a mem-
ber of Libby Church of Christ in Garrison.
Ms. Powdrill was preceded in death by her hus-
band, Howell B. Powdrill.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Howard
of Garrison; brother, Joe Buck Strong of Nacogdo-
ches; granddaughter, Lara Smith; great grandson,
Emerson Smith; numerous nieces, nephews, other
relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Jimmie Ray Strong, Justin
Shull, Roger Clifton, Robert Powers, Clell Sparks,
Leon Manning, Willie Cranford and Steve Cranford.

He was bom February 10,1939 in Joaquin to Wayne
and Lottie Mae (Wilson) Walker. He served in the US
Army. He retired from the International Paper Co after
many years.
Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his parents,
Wayne and Lottie Mae Walker; mother of son Glen
Walker, Melba Taylor; brothers, David Walker and Jer-
rell Walker; and step-daughter, Angel Michelle Kelly.
He is survived by his wife, Ethel Mae Walker of

of the Red Hat Society and Neuville Baptist Church
in Center.
Ms. Burgay was preceded in death by her hus-
band, Claud Elmo Coon; husband, Leon Burgay; par-
ents, Robert R. Taylor and Edith Swearington Taylor;
brothers, Frank Taylor, Henry Taylor; one infant sis-
ter; step-daughters, Betty Jean and Dorothy Louise;
stepson, Ronnie Burgay.
She is survived by her sons, Roger Coon and wife,
Janice, of Joplin, Miss.; William Coon of Gilmer and
Barney Coon of League City; stepson, Johnny Burgay
of Center; 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren;
seven great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends.
