kitchen of Rita and Roger Daugh-
erty. Originally from the Dallas area,
they have been married and have
lived in Blossom for 18 years.
Rita and Roger have three chil-
dren: Roger Jr.
two children of
wife Debbie and one child of Paris;
and Traci of Paris. They attend the
Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church
in Paris.
Rita is a bookkeeper for Wells,
Billman and Associates, a CPA firm
in Paris and has been with them for
six and one-half years.
Hobbies of hers are camping,
making crafts like painted shirts, fish-
ing and cooking. Their favorite camp-
ing spot is Cypress Springs, but they
spend a lot of lime at Pat Mayse Lake.
Rita has chosen a variety of reci-
pes to share this week and we hope
you enjoy them.

Ruby Jo Bryant, age 62 of Deport,
died Wednesday, May 20 at her resi-
dence.
Services were heldat2p.m. Thurs-
day, May 21 in First Baptist Church
of Deport. GrantFuneral Home made
burial in Highland Cemetery.
Mrs. Bryant was bom August 7,
1929 in Delta County, a daughter of
Curt and Faye Lindsey Elmore.
She is survived by her husband,
Henry Hooker Bryant of Deport; her
mother, Mrs. Faye Elmore of Deport;
a son and daughter-in-law, JJH. and
Vicki Bryant of Deport; two daugh-
ters, Ruthie Dale Bryant of San Cle-
mente, CA and Debbie Campbell of
Dallas; two brothers, Jacky and
Deverl Elmore of Deport; three sis-
ters, Joyce Smith of Paris, Ruth
Whittle of Deport and Bobbie Hen-
derson of Dallas; four grandchildren,
Sherrie Taylor of Dallas,Jacob Bryant
of Deport, Clilnt and Tonya Burden
of San Clemente, CA; and one great-
grandson, Shawn Taylor of Dallas.
She was preceded in death by two
sisters, Gwendolyn Sutton in 1979
and Edith Arriaga in 1990.

1 lb. pinto beans
4 hot links
garlic powder to taste
cayane pepper to taste
salt and blade pepper to taste
chili powder to taste
Cook beans until nearly done. Add all
other ingredients. Cook until completely
done.
Mexican Dinner
1 lb. hamburger
1 small onion
1-10 oz. can Rotel or plain tomatoes
1-15 oz. can chili beans
1 can Cream of Chicken soup

hamburger, add tomatoes, beans and
soup. Heat until it bubbles. Line casse-
role with cheese flavored Nacho Dorri-
tos. Top with hamburger mixture, cover
with grated cheese. Bake i
melts. Put tomatoes in blender to avoid
large chunks.
Cowboy Coffee Cake
2 cans (10-12) refrigerated biscuits
1 stick margarine
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
Overlap biscuits in 8 or 9 inch cake
1 .. .
margarine, brown sugar, cinnamon;
spread over biscuits. Bake at 350 for 30
minutes.
Peach Dump Cake
Spray 9x9 cake pan with Pam. Layer all
ingredients in following order.
1-16 oz. can sliced peaches in heavy
syrup
1 medium can crushed pineapple
1 yellow cake mix (do not mix)
Slice 2 sticks margarine and melt.
Pour this over the cake mix. Bake for 1
1/2 hours at 250.
Pudding Pecan Pie
1 box (3.4 oz.) vanilla or butterscotch
instant or reg. pudding and pie filling
1 cup light com syrup
3/4 cup evaporated milk
1 egg slightly beaten
1 cup shopped pecans or walnuts
1 unbaked 9" pie shell
Preheat oven to 375. Blend pudding
mix, com syrup in a medium sized
bowl, using electric mixer on low speed.
Gradually add evaporated milk ana egg,
beating until well blended. Stir in pe-
cans. Pour mixture into pie shell and
bake for about 40 minutes or until top is
firm and just beginning to crack. Re-
. move from oven and cool at least 3 to 4

Combine oil and 1 cup sugar in a
large mixing bowl. Add egg and beat
well. Stir in molasses. Combine flour,
1 tsp. cinnamon salt, soda, cinnamon and ginger, add to

Combine all ingreaients. Refrigerate
until ready to serve.

father who lives in Johntown; two
