Program
I Available
The Fanners Home Administra-
tion County Supevisor, Joan M. Sal-
isbury is reminding the public of a
loan program designed to help
i membes of socially disadvantaged
groups, including minorities, acquire
land for fanning and operating ex-
penses.
Under the program, FmHA will
make loans to persons in those cate-
gories who are interested in fanning
and who can qualify for an FmHA
ownership loan. The agency would
also be prepared to sell or lease to
them a farm held in its inventory.
FmHA can also provide operating
» loans and technical assistance if
needed, to help the borrowers get
started.
Funds have been reserved for farm
purchases and operating loans based
on the population of socially disad-
vantaged persons.
Those who believe they might be
eligible and who are farming or who
would like tobccom fanners are urged
to contact the FmHA County Office.
