She wae appointed Superinten-
dent of the hospital in 19 22 and I
held that position until her resig- |
nation May 7, 1946, when she
moved to Oklahoma to live with
her daughter, Mrs. Tom Whltten-
burg.
During thirty years of nursing
Mrs. Bynum had touched upon
the lives, hearts and homes of
almost the entire town and coun-
ty and will long be remembered
for her faithful, untiring service
to others.
At an early age she became a
member of the Baptist Church |
and remained a devoted servant I
to the church through the years.
Survivors include one daugh-
ter, Mrs. Tom Whlttenburg of
Vian; one sister, Mrs. Etta Price |
of Mt. Pleasant: three grandsons,
iJack Whlttenburg of Fla.; Bob
Whlttenburg of Ill.; and Jim
Whlttenburg of Vian. She Is also
survived by a number of nieces
and nephews and a host of
| friends.
Pall bearers were Phil Camp-
lbell, Fred Hogan, Roy Ramsay,
Jeff Meredith, Roy Price and
Lewis Price.

Phi Sigma Club
Members of the Phi Sigma
Club, with their husbands as
'guests, met Friday night, May 18
" at the Alps Cafe in Mt. Pleas-
ant. The occasion, a formal din-
| ner, marked the last meeting of
the club before adjournment for
the year.
It wan announced that the Phi |
Sigma had earned and contributed :
seventy-five dollars to the Youth I
Council. It was by special en- I
deavor and interest of the club
members in the promotion of the
Youth Council that this was made
possible from proceeds of a style
show staged in 1954 and the sale
of a doll in 1955 with a ward-
robe of clothing made by the I
member}.
