The Mt. Vernon Tigers went
hog wild last Friday night when
it appeared that victory was In
their grasp when they defeated
the Mineola Yellow Jackets on the
home field, 35 to 13.

Miss Rose Mario Fletcher passed

Funeral services were held

non, and a number of other rela-
tives.

Mrs. Donna Hankb, elderly resi-
dent of the Bridges Chapel com-
munity, passed away at Titta
County Memorial Hospital at 7:1a
p.m., Monday, Sept. 24, shortly
after she was admitted. Her death
was attributed to the effects pt a
stroke suffered about two weeks
ago. |
Mrs. Hanks was 79 years of age
and wag a native of Alabama. She
is survived by a daughter, Mrs.-
Eula Mae Jones of Ada, Okla.;four
sons, Jessie Cowley, Alvin Hanks,
and Om|e Hanks, all of Mt. Pleas-
ant, and; L. D. Hanks of San Palo,
Calif.; 17 grandchildren and 19
great-grarfdchlldren Other sur-
vivors Include three brothers, Jim
Jaggers. Maud. Texas; Bill Jagn
gers. New Boston, and Tom Jag-
gers. New Mexico; a sister, Mrs,
Flora Summerlin, Ei Paso, and
