here last weekend visiting
his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Johnson. Col. Johnson,
has been staiioned at

1 Mrs. Allen Letz spent the
weekend in Arlington visiting
5 with her sister and husband,
p:Mr. and Mrs. Pete Elliott. On
fSaturday night she went with
them to attend the Billy
Jraham Crusade at the Texas
Stadium in Irving. She said it
|was reported that 51,700 people
attended the Crusade there that
evening, and she enjoyed it very
luch.
Raymond Baumbach of San
rancisco, Calif., was here last
veek visiting with some of his
iunts and uncles, Mrs. Adele
)udensing, Mr. and Mrs. Otto
)udensing, and R. F. Duden-
sing. Baumbach was quite
young when he moved from
lilhere to California with his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill
IfBaumbach, and his aunt Mrs.
Vdele Dudensing reported they
vere very happy to get to see
iim again. He also visited with
Ir. and Mrs. Lynn Flowers.
|$Mrs. Flowers was his first
rade teacher.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cox of
Jayton attended church here
I jSunday evening and visited with
' friends for awhile. The Cox's
sre former residents of this
community. He was employed
Old Glory school as custodian
fbout 15 years ago.
Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Flowers
Were in San Angelo Sunday
[ Sept. 19, where they attended
the reception honoring her
sister and husband, Mr. and
Mrs. J. C. King, on their 50th
| Wedding Anniversary.
The Flowers spent Sunday
and Monday with the Kings and
[i'returned home on Monday
J afternoon. They also met her
cousin, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Ar-
nett of California there and
visited with them.
Last Sunday Mrs. Lynn
Flowers was a guest in the
home of her sister, Mrs. Hazel
| Overton in Stamford. While
there they attended a Youth
| Rally at the Orient Street
Church of Christ.
Also visiting with Mr. and
Mrs. Flowers one day last week
|ere Floyd Davis of Abilene
and Ford Davis of Galveston.
They are former residents here,
and reported they had just
returned from attending the
funeral of their father's, the Sate
Pearl Davis, last brother. He
was Argo Davis of EliasviUe.
The J. V. Ritenours and her
niece, Bonnie Cunningham , all
of Abilene, were dinner guests
in the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Herman Dugan iast Sunday.

Mrs. Morris Garner, and we
are glad to report that she has
returned home from the Haskell
Hospital.
Mrs. Fannie Mae Carr, a
patient in the Stamford
Kospiiai.
Mrs. Charlie Perryman Sr.,
who is in the hospital in Abilene,
recovering from a stroke.
Up to about 2.50 inches of rain
was reported here last week.
Cotton is getting taller. Some
farmers have planted their fall
grain, and it is up and looking
good.
Mmes. George Rhoads, Jack
Jones and Dalton Gill attended
a 4-H Adult Leader training
program held at Hickman's
Cafe in Aspermont on Tuesday
of last week.
4-H members have expressed
appreciation to people in the
community who bought cakes at
their bake sale, and to their
mothers who did the baking.
School officials have an-
nounced that on Thursday, Sept.
30, at 10:15 a.m. there will be a
magician's show in the school
cafetorium. The public is in-
vited to attend. There will be a
35 cent charge for each in-
dividual to see the show.
Mrs. Normanda Sander of
Abilene spent last Friday night
here with her aunt, Mrs. Adele
Dudensing. She also visited with
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Flowers
Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Marvin
Vahlenkamp are parents of a
baby girl, born Thursday, Sept.
23, in Stamford Hospital, named
Jimma Ann, weighed 8 lbs. 14Vfe
oz. The father is presently
stationed in Viet Nam, and the
mother is the former Brenda
Dalby. Proud grandparents are
Mr. and Mrs. Fredrick Dalby of
Aspermont and Mr. and Mrs.
Herbert Vahlenkamp.
Mrs. Bill Suter accompanied
by her sister, Mrs. Lois Winfrey
of Abilene, has gone to
Springfield, 111. this week. They
are visiting in the home of their
sister and family, the Jack T.
Wrens. Mrs. Wren underwent
surgery in a hospital there
Monday morning. She is the
former Elva Long.
