Bridal Tea
Honors Miss
Lynn Fikes <
By Peggy Lowry
Miss Vickie Lynn Fikes,
bride-elect of Leopard Daniell
Lowry, was honored with a
bridal tea shower at the home .
of Mrs. Lee Howison, Saturday,. ?alad 8uppe.r nlne mem‘
the twenty-second of May, - -
two until four o’clock in the
afternoon.
Mrs. Howison, the hostess, >
Mrs. L.D. Lowry, Jr., Mrs.
Orlan Fikes, Sr., and the
honoree greeted guests in the
entrance area of the Howison
home. Miss Fikes wore an
afternoon gown of floral crepe
de chine, and a shoulder
corsage of mixed poms.
Guests registered at the
antique table which held a
white memory candle covered
with ivory lace, seed pearls and
satin streamers.
The honoree’s chosen colors
of bisque and turquoise
predominated the traditional
tea table. Silver footed trays
held miniature finger sand-
wiches, rolled tarts, pecan
rounds, pistachio bars, wed-
ding cremes, cashew rolls,
graham fluffs, and creme
swirls. Fruit punch was served
from a silver puninch bowl, and
European tea was served from
a footed English tea set.
Centering the tea table was a
floral arrangement of long
stemmed carnations, mums,
snap dragons, wood greens,
and bells of Ireland. Long white
burning tapers and swirls of ivy
accented the floral arrange-
ment. The tea table was
beautifully draped with a satin
and lace cloth.
The Howison home was
decorated with candles and
fresh floral arrangements
throughout, and guests enjoyed
seeing the many collectors
items and antiques displayed
throughout the party rooms.
Miss Fikes is a 1976 graduate
of Baylor University School of
Nursing, and Mr. Lowry is a
Southern Methodist University
School of Law graduate. The
couple plans a June 5th evening
wedding.

Fleet Moulton, Jeff Meredith,
Frank Hicks, Charles Teague,
G.W. Jennings, Neal Solomon,
Bill Cargile, Hermon Connelly,
