The ladies of WMU of First
Baptist Church met at the home
of their director, Bertha
Galloway, Tuesday morning
and made quilts for the Indian
Reservation in South Dakota.
They almost finished four
quilts. Meeting will every
Tuesday and everyone is invited
to join. Those attending were
Edith Meador, Clidy Boydstun,
Minnie Myres, Ina Mae
Godfrey, Bernice McNutt, Betty
Farley, Jewell Anderson and
Bertha Galloway.
Bettie Rash's house caught
fire Monday afternoon. The fire
department was called, but the
fire was out before they arrived.
Mr. and Mrs. Vance Morgan
have a new green 72 Chevy
pickup.
Mollis Guess spent Saturday
morning with Bettie Rash.
Some ladies attended the
WMU Lueders Encampment
Thursday. Apr. 28. Those going
from Peacock were Jewell
Anderson, Novella Vaughan,
Myrtle House, Jamie Flores
and Mary, Ina Mae Godfrey,
Minnie Myres, Betty Farley,
Robert and William and Bertha
Galloway. Attending from
Swenson were Sandy Fryer and
Robbie Sue and Katherine Joy.

ailing side with a cold this week.

Scholarship. He is vice
president of the national honor
society, Alpha Chi; president of
Lords of Commons for 1972-73
and has also been inducted into
Beta Beta Beta, a national
biological society.

cousin, Mrs. Rosa Rash in
Aspermont Saturday afternoon.
Rebekiah Oakley of Woodson
received third place in district
junior high UIL competition in
ready writing. Pete Howard
Oakley will receive a certificate
for not missing a day in school.

May (Galloway) Oakley and
Mr. Oakley of Woodson.

Andersons visited the A. N.
Andersons in Aspermont Friday
night.

rain this week which made the
gardens and flowers look good.

In Rotan for
Dee Reese, 65
Dee Reese, former shoe and
boot shop repair operator here,
died at 9 p.m. Saturday in
Callan Hospital in Rotan
following a brief illness.
Reese, 65, had owned and
oeprated a boot shop in Rotan
for many years.
Funeral was held at 4 p.m.
Monday in the Rotan Church of
Christ where he was a member.

Rotan church, officiated.
Burial was in Rotan
Cemetery.
He was born Jan. 13, 1907, in
Comanche County and was
married to Mabel McLeod Dec.
