Every time a pesticide is
applied. farmers and
ranchers who store or use 55
gallons or 500 pounds of
pesticide a year must
record what they applied,
how much and where they
applied it. These records
must be maintained by
agricultural producers for
30 years. These producers
must supply agricultural
workers with crop data
sheets, explaining what is
being used on the farm or
ranch, the poisoning
symptoms and remedial
actions to take in the event
of poisoning.
The Texas Department of
Agriculture is the state
agency regulating the
Texas Agricultural Hazard
Communication Law. The
Texas Agricultural
Extension Service is
responsible for educating
producers about the law.
