Rodeo ticket office will open
Saturday. December 9, in
Will Rogers Coliseum
Lobby.
W. R. Watt, Jr., Stock
Show president manager,
said the ticket office will be
open daily, including Sun
day. from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.
Show dates for the &3rd
Stock Show are January 24
through February 4 with 22

I Rodeo entertainer Rex
Allen Jr. was in town this
week for a press conference
and to call attention to the
opening of the ticket office.
Allen, whose father Rex
Allen Sr., played the Tort
Worth Rodeo in 1960 and
1968, said he has moved
from his father's shadow in
many ways but still believes
dad was the greatest truly
western singer of all time.
He commented that Texas
and Tort Worth is one of the
three major western music
markets in the nation. “If a
western singer can make it
in these three markets, he’s
really made it throughout
the nation," the clean
shaven, smiling entertainer
said.
"Playing Tort Worth and
the Rodeo here puts me in
the middle of the western
music pie," he added. “I'm
looking forward to playing
the greatest rodeo in the
world."
Comment ing on his father,
young Allen said, “My father
was a kid from Wilcox,
Arizona, who went on to
become t he No. 1 box office
attraction in the United
States, and as far as I'm
concerned, that's a heritage
to continue.”
