9 in the Homemaking Room of
Sanger School with Margie Smith
and Shirley Brown as hostesses.
Mrs. Dorothy Bartley, Lone
Star Gas Company Home Eco-
nomist, was guest speaker and
gave a demonstration on foods
for Christmas.
Brownies and coffee were
served to ten members and
three guests.
A report was made that
the Cake-Coffee Project did
well.
The next meeting will be
Monday night, January 27, 1969
with Barbara Seaton and Eliza-
beth Higgs as hostesses. The
program will be on Landscap-

The Sanger Future Farmers
of America Chapter held a local
meeting Tuesday evening, Dec.
3 at 7 o’clock in the Ag Shop
when eleven members received
their Greenhand pins. Also,
eight Greenhands were raisea
to the rank of Chapter Farm-
ers.
The officers were present-
ed the officer pins and Miss
Glenna Cole, FFA Sweetheart,
was presented a Sweetheart pin.

One of the highlights of
this week at S.H.S. was the
Annual FHA Style Show. The
theme this year was “The Great
Inspiration.” The stage was
decorated in aChristmasmotif.
A special guest of the evening
was Santa Claus (Joe Marshall.
SHS Junior.) He sang several
songs. The show was a real
success tids year.
The school pictures came
in this week. Some were pleas-
ed, some were not, but most
were ready to trade with their
friends and get their pictures
in return.
Basketball season is in full
swing. The Byers Tournament
was last weekend and Sanger
participated. In the opening
round the girls played Henrietta
and lost. In a second game
they fell to Nocona. In the third
game of the tournament, the
girls won over Northside. This
gave the girls third consolation
in the tourney. The girls play-
ed Sadler-Southmayd Tuesday
night of this week and defeated
them by a score of 33-18. The
girls will be participating in
the Sadler-Southmayd tourney
this week. Also on Monday of
this week, the girls defeated
Era by a score of 34-21.
The boys won over Hen-
rietta but lost to Byers and
Bridgeport in the Byers tour-
nameht. They came home with
a 4th place trophy. The boys
also defeated Era and Sadler-
Southmayd this week and will
play in the S-S tourney this
week.
