The Krum City Council held their regular meeting
November 1, in the Krum Community Center with all
members present.
Scott Porter, Krum Fire Chief spoke to the council. He
read part of a letter written by the Mayor to Conrad
Shifflett, in regard to the Krum Fire Department was not an
entity to the City of Krum. He was asking support from the
city and clarification to the role of the city.
The council agreed to a future agenda to clarify the Fire
Department's role to the city of Krum, also the role of the
Krum Public Library's role to the city.
Duggan Knight gave an emotional appeal to the Mayor and
the Council for better communication and cooperation to
the community.
They held an executive session in which the public was
not allowed. The council accepted the resignation of Ray
Gibson from the Planning and Zoning Board and Ella Hall
was appointed to replace him to P&Z. The Texas Waste
Management have agreed (o pick up large Items at curb side
on the 2nd Thursday of each month beginning December 1.
A fee increase request from Texas Waste Management was
granted from $4.10 per month to $4.62 per month.
They considered the recommendation for traffic control
around the Elementary and Middle Schools by the police
Department. They will paint four locations for crossings at
designated places and paint-25 feet from each comer, 'NO
PARKING". This passed as a resolution. Also the streets
around the elementary and middle schools will be
designated as One Way streets between 7.30-8:30 a m. and
2:30-3:30 p.m. each school day.
They signed the Interlocal agreement on the County 911
system. The adoption of Sub-Dlvlslon ordinance was
passed to become effective December 1. The annexation of
property designated by Tom Briscoe was passed.
Conrad Shifflett handed to each member an Inventory as
requested of City Owned property. Tony Haddock was
elected Mayor Pro-Tern.

Boy Scouts earn awards
The Boy Scout of Troop 136 have been working on
advancements. Bruce Graham, Toby Watson, and Joshua
Crow earned the Citizenship Skill Award October 16. In
that same meeting the following boys received the Scout
Patch: Andy Fabrizio, Joshua Crow, Toby Watson and Bruce
Graham. On October 23rd Toby Watson and Bruce Graham
earned the Family Living Skill Award. They are currently
working on their First Aid Skills.
During the week end of October 28-30, five of the troop
members and Scout Master Floyd Watson and Assistant
Scout Master David Pence attended an Informal camporee
at Sid Richardson Camp in Bridgeport.
The troop plans to continue recruiting new members.
Jake Chism was added to the troop in October, Several new
members are being recruited
A plan for November is the Highway Trash pick-up for
November 12. The troop is also planning a food drive for
November 12th to collect canned goods for needy families.
