Sluder families enjoyed a joint
get-together, and annual af-
fair, on Mother’s Day in the
Oak Grove Community Center
Building, 4 miles east of Gain-
esville.
A covered dish luncheon was
served in the dining room at
noon. Following the meal the

song and visitation period,
while the youngsters amused
themselves on the playground
e quipment and played ball.

Ndnc". To familiarize the
children with the business dis-
trict of Sanger, Mrs. Riggs and
pupils made a tour of the
town.
Jack Burkholder and Jack
Armstrong were among the
Etenton County delegates nam -
ed to the State Democratic
Convention which will be held
in Houston in June.
Named at the Saturday night
Denton County Convention
held at the Municipal Building
Auditorium, they will be
among a delegation of 40 from
tire county.
Dr. Jack B. Scoggs was named
permanent chairman of the
Denton County Democratic
Convention.

We then visited the bank.

the one they use to take pic-
tures of all important papers.
Apleasant surprise was a bal-
loon she gave to each child.
We visited Mathison’s Drug,
Jess Smith Dry Goods, Mc-
Daniel Grocery, Mr. Buck-
lew’s Upholstering, Lillians
Drug, O.M. Gentle Hard-
ware and Sanger Florist.

Various stores were visited
and safe street crossing were
pointed out.
First, we visited the locker
plant where Mr. Ready ex-
plained many interesting
things including how the meat
was cured and stored.
Next stop was the Courier
office. Mb. Hall explained
the many things she did before
die paper was ready to be
printed. We saw the lumber
yard and the City Office.
Miss Winnie Seal explained
about tile fire alarm, the coun-
cil room and the map of San-
ger. Randy’s father called in
f rom his car and we talked to
him over the short wave radio.
We met our Mayor, Bill Lewis.
Our next stop was the Post
Office. Mr. Windle and Mr.
Richardson explained many
