Wheeler, chose the Lone Star Steakhouse as the site of
her birthday luncheon. She was accompanied by her
sister, Nellie Horton of Wheeler, and her son, Jim Horton,
a schoolteacherfrom Kirtland, New Mexico.

Mr. Case underwent
surgery this week for a brain
tumor, discovered only recent-
ly and diagnosed to be life-

tinuing the celebration of their
100th anniversary, will honor
longtime Methodists at a spe-
cial service on Sunday,
February 27.
Following the 10:30 service
a covered dish dinner will be
served.

Assembly of God Friday
their music. Annually, they
travel approximately 100,000
miles throughout the United
States and Canada, and are
known for the strength and
versatility of their performan-
ces.
Current members of The
Speers include Brock, Ben,
Brock’s wife, Faye, Karen
Apple and Daryl Williams.
Abundant Life Church is lo-
cated at 310 Birch in
Canadian. There is no admis-
sion charge, but a free-will of-
fering will be taken.
The Speer Family,
America’s First Family of
Gospel Music, will be in concert
at 7 p.m. on Friday, February
25, at the Abundant Life As-
sembly of God Church.
The group was formed in
1921 by G.T. (Dad) Speer, and
has been consistently delight-
ing fans with a unique blend of
sound that ranges from old
traditional to the middle-of-
the-road. They have recorded
more than 70 albums, received
five Grammy nominations, and
accepted 14 Dove awards for
