career advancement with
bachelor's degree.
"The thing I like about the
degree is its flexibility," Tate
said. "There is a wide choice of
courses to select from to com-
plement the specialty and, of
course, it is gratifying to be able
to receive credit for previous job
training."
"I believe it is a very worth-
while degree for people in a
wide variety of occupations."
Three semester hours of
graduate credit will be awarded
for successful completion of
the course.
The Texas Legislature has
mandated that a course in free
enterprise be taught in all
elementary and secondary
schools within the state to
encourage development of a
citizenry both economically,
literate and with a positive
attitude toward its economic
responsibilities.
St. Mary's presently is in
process of establishing the
Myra Stafford Pryor Chair in
Free Enterprise, funded partly
by the Myra Pryor bequest and
partly through contributions by
civic and business leaders.

problem" at the time.

through the Christmas break,
but this was the only time the
city had a chance to replace it.
They wanted to do the job that
afternoon but Physical Plant
objected to having campus
operations stopped.
Only a few students took ad-
vantage of the cut-off and the
second "blackout" of the
school year passed without
major incident.
