.... IT SEEMS that about ev-
ery six to eight months Huds-
peth County has a strike a-
gainst it - at least in the last
few years it has been this way
with the latest arrest of
the County Sheriff on drug
charges, these strikes began
to take on a more serious look
it’s no wonder that every-
one now is thinking if others
are involved, or who else is
involved the news stories
quote the sheriff as saying he
plans to remain sheriff of Huds-
peth County but will not carry
a gun let's hope that our
county government will use
good judgment and realize that
a situation such as this follow-
ing the recent circumstances
of the arrest of the sheriff
would be catastrophic to the
people of Hudspeth county and
to the county itself.
let's help our county overcome
this degrading happening, not
cover it up and look the other
way it would be difficult
to believe that the people of
the county would allow this. ..
FALL SEEMS TO BE
in the air mornings and nights
.... however, the 100-dgree
daytime temperatures bring us
back to summertime each day
temperatures in the low
40'swere reported in Dell Val-
ley for last week.. .. which re-
minds us that FAIR TIME is
around the comer! so good
to see so many people working
on various phases of this year's
Fair, so it promises to be a
good one..... the FAIR BOOKS
are out, thanks to Alvin, Lola
and the Gentry family who have
put in hours and hours of work
selling advertising and making
it such a good Fair Book
those of us who have worked on
this important project of the
Fair know the work, time and
dedication the Fair Book takes
HATS OFF, to all of you.'

We wish Sister Dorothy and Sister Helen our best as they move
to Pecos this week. We are glad we will be seeing them from
time to time back in Dell Valley. They, and three other Sisters
will be traveling from community to community in this large
part of their southwest territory. Sister Dorothy and Sister He-
len have done a tremendous job in Dell Valley the short time
they were here — we will miss them but not forget them by
anv means - they are a part of our community!

to Flatenango of Sanchez Roman in Zacatecas, Mexico. Mrs.
Gonzales went to visit her parents, relatives and friends.. Martha
