We extend our deepest sympa-
thy in their bereavement, to the
families of:
BEN PFEFFER
SAM ROSENBERG
MORDECAI LUSKI
May their memory be a blessing!
On Saturday evening, May 6th, we in-
augurated the traditional “S’eudah Shli-
shit,” or as it is more commonly called
“Shalosh Seudos.” The host was Sol Rose
who donated it in memory of his mother.
We had a grand time, singing and tear-
ing herrings apart. The “litvaks” especial-
ly enjoyed the celebration.
Next Saturday evening, Abe Sampson
will be the host at this traditional cere-
mony; and on May 20th it will be Sam
Freedman. Thus we have launched some-
thing we are sure will be the source of
a great deal of religious joy and inspira-
tion to all of our people, and a source
of destruction of many herrings.
Everyone is cordially invited to join
us at this traditional and joyous celebra-
tion every Saturday evening at sundown.

BETH YESHURUN BASKETBALLERS
CITY CHAMPIONS
The Basketball Team of our Religious
School had won the City Championship
by trouncing Beth Jacob, 51 to 16; and
Emanu El, 29 to 5. That gives them the
championship of the Senior Division of
the Jewish Community Center Extension
League.
The first team consists of the following:
Maurice Laufman, Harold Kaminsky,
Shelton Mitelman, Harvey Tiras and Jon-
athan Malev. Others, who assisted with
the work of the team, and played in the
games were: Haskell Rosenthal, Steve
Zelen and Donald Roth.
To all these boys we are grateful for
their hard work on behalf of Beth Ye-
shurun, and their playing has reflected
credit upon their Congregation. We are
proud, not only of their victories, but
also of the fine qualities of sportsmanship
and fair play, which they have demon-
strated throughout the tournament.
