netted us over $800.00 profit for the
past year. We are grateful for all con-
tributions to this fund, however large
or small, for this money is used to pur-
chase flowers to adorn our pulpit for all
our Sabbath and holiday services. These
flowers lend beauty and dignity to our
services.

BOOK SHOP
This past year has seen an increase
in the number of books purchased
through the Book Shop. Thanks to an
inspiring talk by Rabbi Malev at a
Sunday morning breakfast, Reconstruc-
tionist Hagaddah sales soared.
It is our hope to stimulate and in-
spire the home educators, Jewish wives
IT'S LATER
THAN
YOU THINK
Only a short time is left to buy your
tickets for the Trip to Mexico City
raffle, to be given away at the Sister-
hood Mother-Daughter luncheon, May
6. Tickets have been selling like latkes
(hot cakes) and to be sure of an oppor-
tunity to win this fabulous, exciting-
trip, call Mrs. Dave Kaminsky, MA
3-8319, or the Synagogue office for
your tickets.
The winning ducat will give the win-
ner and a guest a 5 day, round trip
vacation in Mexico City via Pan Ameri-
can Airway. The winners will be guests
at the Barner Hotel and will be treated
to breakfast (in bed, if desired) and
sightseeing tours. What a wonderful
trip for only $1.00!
Only $1.00 gives you an opportunity
to win, and the contribution of $10
gives you a book of tickets (10 chances
to win), plus the knowledge that you
are helping Sisterhood fulfill their
pledge to the Beth Yeshurun Religious
Schools. Do your part, please — buy
your tickets, today!
One ticket per member of Congrega-
tion Beth Yeshurun insures the success
of Sisterhood’s most important fund-
raising venture this year.
Have you purchased YOUR ticket
yet?

MEMBERSHIP
Membership has become a year round
project rather than a concerted effort
over a short period.
This year, for the first time, Sister-
hood has a permanent file of non-mem-
bers, created so that succeeding vice-
presidents will avoid duplication of pre-
vious efforts.
400 prospects were contacted,
promised to join, and as of May
23 have become paid up members.
My special thanks to Mrs. Julius
Feinstein for her efforts in the compila-
tion of the non-member file and to all
who worked so diligently on the mem-
bership program.
Mrs. Jack (Sophie) Bender

COURTESY COMMITTEE
It is the responsibility of the Courtesy
Committee to send cards to our mem-
bers on various occasions. Since Septem-
ber 1957, over 1000 cards have been
mailed.
Thinking out loud at this point, I
wish people were as prompt to report
“occasions” as they are to criticize when
not remembered.
We especially thank Mrs. Phillip Pin-
cus who sent approximately 700 cards;
not even a stint in the hospital could
prevent her from getting the cards mail-
ed on time.
For this splendid job of public rela-
tions, we are indebted to the following
women: Births, Mrs. Sidney Aron; Get-
Well, Mrs. Bernard Farfel; Bar-Bat
Mitzvah, Mrs. M. M. Shapiro; Condo-
lence, Mrs. David Gordon; Weddings,
Mrs. Jake Sampson; Birthday-Anniver-
sary, Mrs. Phillip Pincus.
