they will sick to the basics
because there will be many
scouts looking at them Friday
night.
"We don't want to let them
see everything we have on the
field," Little added.
During the past few weeks,
when the Rams got behind, they
rallied until they came back.
Joaquin is as good as ML
Enterprise, said Little. "They
play hard, more physical, and
they fight til the end," he added.

another with Wilcots. Courtney
and Bedunah were everywhere.
All of Courtney's blows were
heard as well as felt, really vi-
cious shots.
On the other side of the ball,
Ross Longshore ran all over the
Tigers with his biggest day on
offense, 202 yards in 15 carries,
including a 15-yard touchdown.
He set up two other scoring
plays with runs of 60 and 61
yards as the Bearcats stayed
away from their bread and butter
backs and gave others a chance
to shine.
Narvin Wilcots was one who
took advantage, too, gaining 63
yards in nine chances with one
score.
Beckville rumbled for 320
yards on the ground and had 362
total offense.
Sipes connected with Tur-
nage on a 24-yard scoring pass
in the first 2:35 of action and
that's all Ken Little's club would
need.
Beckville was able to convert
on just one extra point, however,
as Tenaha blocked several and
Longshore missed twice. He
missed the first, leaving the

play very physical up front.
Little stated that the Rams
coaching staff knows what they
are doing.
The Rams are big and will try
to ran over the Cats.
"Friday night should be a
good game for firns to attend,"
said Little, "it won't be a
blowout; it will be close."
Joaquin has some quick
running backs and run the K«ll
well. Quarterback Cail Roberts
executes the offense well.
According to Little, the Rams
play a lot like Mt Enterprise
"They like to ran bootleg puses
Beckville's Friday night
football game will be the end of
the line for either Beckville or
Joaquin.
Because 1-A schools only
send two teams into the
playoffs, the game against
Joaquin will decide who gets to
play more football and who will
begin playing basketball.
The Joaquin Rams, whose
district record is the same as
Beckville's, will come to R. C.
Beachamp Stadium for
Beckville's last home game.
According to Ken Little,
athletics director at Beckville,
said that the game would be
really significant to his players.
"Our kids know that it is
important to bounce back from
the disappointing loss of last
week," tie said.
The team must once again
rise to the next level of play.
According to Little though,
TENAHA - It was Tenaha's
homecoming here Saturday, but
after that it was all Beckville's
show as the state-ranked
Bearcats got back on track with
a 31-0 rout of the Tigers for
their seventh win of the season.
The Beckville defense con-
trolled the game, stuffing the
Tenaha rushing attack for minus
40 yards and only four first
downs in a hard-hitting assault
that featured the efforts of
Bubba Courtney (seven tackles,
one causing a fumble), Scott
Bedunah (seven), Jamie Adams
(six) and Chris Tumage and
Marvin Wilcots (five).
Courtney lit up the Tenaha
rushing attack with five solo
hits.
Unable to run, the Tigers
took to the air and had four
• passes intercepted, or one third
of those that didn't fall incom-
plete. Adam Sipes picked off
two and Chris Tumage and
Desmund Pellum each had one.
Tumage, Adams, Courtney,
Wilcots and Eric Foster kept
pressure on the Tenaha quarter-
back throughout the afternoon.
Adams had a sack and shared

Very late in the stanza,
Wilcof« bolted one yard for an-
other Beckville tally and Long-
shore made it a 13-0 game.
There were 33 seconds remain-
ing when Teraha began to feel
the heat. The scoring play was
set up by Longshore's 61-yard
dash to the goal.
Then Courtney got into the
scoring act with two TDs, on
runs of 13 and 19 yards in each
of the second and third quarters.
He finished the game with 69
yards on 10 carries, very modest
numbers as others of his team
were given a chance to show
their wares.
Finally Longshore ran 15 for
a TD with 6:18 remaining in the
game.
The Bearcats came back to
take the ball to the Tenaha one,
then took a knee to keep in
sportsmanship.
Tenaha has been beset with
injuries all season and has just
about run out of steam in coach
Raymond Jackson's final season.
He'll retire at the end of the
campaign after much success.
Speaking of success, Little's
charges have enjoyed some of
their own and are now in a
shootout with Joaquin for sec-
ond place and the remaining
playoff berth from 19-A.
Mt. Enterprise (8-0) leads the
chase with a 3-0 record, fol-
lowed by Beckville (7-1, 2-1)
and Joaquin (6-2, 2-1). Both
have lost to Mt. Enterprise and
will not be able to overtake the
Wildcats.
Joaquin visits Beckville Fri-
day and the winner will take all,
no doubt.
