Rickert was at the site of the
fire. He pointed out that many
people were burning piles of
brush which had been left from
the tree damage during last
month's ice storm. Indeed,
several such fires were within
sight along the lake's edge at
that time.
Rickert stressed that
everyone needs to be extremely
careful burning their brush piles,
both because of the volume of
debris that there is at most
people's homes, and also
because the surrounding grass is
now dead from the freezing
weather._______________________
