One man was killed and three
people were injured in a two-car
accident at 6:05 a.m. Monday.
The accident, which occurred
approximately 12 miles
Southwest of Carthage, was
apparently the result of driver
fatigue, according to

The Carthage Police Depart-
ment is looking for the man who
robbed the E-Z Mart Store
located at 613 N. St. Mary Street
Monday night.
’ According to the cashier on
duty, at approximately 8:35 p.m.
a black male entered the store,
went straight to a chewing gum
display, and then brought his
selection to the counter.
When she opened the cash
register to give the customer his
change, the man shoved her
away and grabbed the money in
the cash register. He then fled
out the door.
According to a report pre-
pared by Carthage Police
Department Officer Phillip
Baker, the assailant was a short-
haired black male in his 20s or
30s, 5'6” to 5'10" with a slender
build. He was wearing blue
jeans and a black Tommy Hil-
figer T-shirt.
