Yancy Strength were united in
marriage on the evening of August
12, 1984, In the Llano home of Bill
and Beth Ward.
The ceremony was performed by
Justice of the Peace Dana Saucier.
The bride, who is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lovell of
Carrollton, Georgia, wore a white
lacy gauze gown and carried a white
carnation, as did Kay Strength, her
matron of honor,
Serving as best man to the groom,
whose parents are Mr. and Mrs.
John Strength of Stone Mountain.

roe, Texas, Cheryl Hamilton, Grosse
Pointe Woods, Michigan, Mrs. Rob
Root, College Station, and Mrs. Rich
Spanfield, Huntsville. Texas. They
wore pale blue brocade jacket
dresses with huge puff sleeves and
belted with a circular pepulum to
enhance the long skirts. They
carried brass lamps with lighted
candles. The lamps were wreathed
with blue and white flowers with
ribbon streamers.
The best man was Bill Eaton, Ft.
Worth, Texas. Groomsmen were
Mr. David Kinsey. Bay City. Mr.
Brian Kinsey, College Station, Mr.
John Boyes, Houston, and Mr. Ken
Grimsby, Illinois.
Ushers were Mr. Gary Gross,
Houston, Mr. Harold Hurry, Hunts-
ville, Mr. Mark Mathiesen, Houston,
Capt. Rob Root, College Station, and
Mr. Hugh Warnack, Houston.
Members of the house party were
Mrs. Brent Burris, Mrs. Dan Ros-
sel), Misses Ruth James, Etna Riehl,
Connie Vernon, Linda Smithson,
Debbie Magill, and Mamey Weaver,
all of Houston.
Mrs. Michael Dunn served as
wedding coordinator, and Mrs. Sue
Parrish served as reception coordin- •
a tor. The six-tiered cake and the
groom's cake were made by Mrs.
Buna Patterson, a friend of the
groom’s family in Bay City. The
reception hall was decorated with
blue and white table cloths and
flower arrangements and large pot-
ted plants. The music was by Mrs.
Beverly McLaughlin at the piano,
and Mrs. Mary Vaughn at the
marimba.
The bride is a 1978 graduate of Sam
Houston State University and is a
second grade teacher in Spring
Branch School District.
The groom is a 1979 graduate of
Sam Houston State University and
teaches at St. John's High School
and teaches at Rice during summer
school. He is organist for Memorial
Drive Baptist Church.
After a honeymoon in Hawaii, Mr.
and Mrs. Kinsey will reside in
Houston.

Miss Sally Ann Root and Mr. Mark
Wayne Kinsey were united in
marriage in a double ring ceremcyiy
on Saturday, August 4, 1984, at
seven o'clock in the evening in a
candle-light ceremony at Memorial
Drive Baptist Church, Houston.
Texas. The ceremony was per-
formed by the Reverend Bill Heston.
The special music was presented by
organist, Mr. Mark Cook, pianist,
Mrs. Max Johnson, vocalist, Mr.
David Famed sang "This is the
Day" and “The Nature of Love.”
and Mr. Jerry Smith sang "Entreat
Me Not o Leave Thee." The
instrumentalist s were Reverend Joe
Keith, Mrs. Clovis Vaughn, and
Mrs. Bill Heston. After exchanging
of rings, Sally and Mark sang "Our
Love" followed by lighting of the
Unity Candle. The Reverend Joe
Keith presented "The Lord’s Pra-
yer" in a hand bell solo during a
silent meditation followed by prayer.
A reception was held in Fellowship
Hall.
The bride is the daughter of
Retired Lt. Col. and Mrs. Robert R.
Root of Buchanan Dam, Texas. The
groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Glyn Kinsey of Bay City, Texas.
Given in marriage by her father,
the bride wore a beautiful gown de-
signed especially for her by her
mother of candlelight satin and
organza. The upper bodice and
sleeves were of English net, with the
bodice and sleeves appliqued with
Alencon lace and seed pearls. The
skirt fell to slipper length sweeping
back to a cathedral length train and
appliqued with repeated designs of
Alencon lace with scallops of
Alencon lace completing the hem-
line. The veil was candlelight
illusion dotted with seed pearls and
edged in lace. It was held in place
over the modified Juliet satin cap
with Alencon lace. She carried a
white Bible given to her by her aunt,
Mrs. Davis Whitman of Choudrant,
La. with a cascade of candlelight silk
roses, tiny mums and baby breath
with an orchid as a point of interest.
The isle of the sanctuary was lit with
candles in brass holders, tiers of
candlelabras started on the steps of
the podium and centered in the choir
loft, with three bouquets of blue and

and Irma Lea Allen and Jess and
Dean Sessom. of Ft. Worth who
spend each summer there.
Adelaide, the Coopers and Ses-
soms visited Quake Lake. Nevada
City and Virginia City in Montana, as
well as numerous places of interest
in Idaho.
Yellowstone Park was the high-
light of the trip. Besides the
geysers, etc. Yellowstone has an
abundance of wild life, including
antelope, bear, buffalo, elk and
moose.
She and the Coopers visited the
Teton National Park on their return
home.
Scherer, both of Kerrville. Grooms-
men were Steve Cullinan, Buzzy
Hughes, Calvin Smith. Ronald Jack-
son of Austin and Bill Manning of
Mt. Home. Ushers were John
Scarnato and Dean Jackson of
Austin.
The reception and buffet dinner
were held at Fair Oaks, and the
music was by Japonica.
The bride wore a royal blue suit for
the wedding trip to the British Virgin
Islands. They will be at home at
Austin.
The bride attended Tivy and
graduated from the Selwyn School,
Denton. She attended SMU and
Texas University..
The groom graduated from Tivy
and attended SWT and UT. He is
now employed in retail management.
Guests attended from Dallas, Fort
Worth, Austin. San Antonio, Ar-
lington and Port Isabel.
The grandparents are Nolan Harlow
and the late Ila Lee Harlow and Mr.
and Mrs. Les Ward both of Llano.
Great-grandparents are Mr. and
Mrs. L.N. Bauman and Mr. and
Mrs. Len Harlow.
Adelaide Hallmark of Llano
recently accompanied O.C. and
Ramona Cooper, of Ft. Worth on a
trip to the Yellowstone and Teton
National parks and other places of
interest in New Mexico. Idaho. Utah
arid Montana.
They spent two days at Bloom-
field. New Mexico visiting J.D. and
Axnievc Wardlow. While theere
thf-y picnicked in the Carson Nation-
al-Forest and visited Navajo Lake.
They stopped in Salt Lake City and
visited Temple Square. They were
most impressed by the Morman
Tabernacle and the beautiful flow-
ers.

Eva Jo Auld of Austin, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Auld, Jr. of Hunt
and Russell O'Day Ward of Austin
were united in marriage July 14,
1984. The groom is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Barrie Ward of Kerrville.
They were married at Fair Oaks
Country Club. Boerne, by the Rev.
Raymond Wilson. The double ring
ceremony was at 8 o'clock in the
evening.
The bride was given away by her
father. She wore a long white lace
antique dress w ith short sleeves, a
small white headpiece studded with
pearls and a short veil.
The matron of honor was Paula
Manning, of Mt. Home, sister of the
bride. She wore a long red taffeta
dress and carried a white rose arm
boiiquet. The bridesmaids were
B<linda Auld of Hunt, sister of the
bride. Robin Hansen, Jill Maurer,
and Julie Bernhard of Austin. Kelly
Asher of Arlington and Penny Mall
of Port Isabel. They wore red taffeta
dresses and carried white rose
bouquets.
