Obituary
Robert A. Carter was born November 20, 1938 in Akron, Ohio and was the sixth child born to,
Reverend Joseph and Zepha Muriel Carter. He had two brothers and three sisters, Claudia Carter,
Rosalie Carter, Rudolph Carter, Joseph Carter Jr. and Beverly Bowles. Bob entered into eternal
rest on January 25, 2015. He is preceded in death by his parents, Reverend Joseph and Zepha
Muriel Carter, brother, Rudolph Carter and sisters Rosalie and Claudia Carter.
Bob graduated from Buchtel High School in Akron, Ohio. After high school he attended Central
State College, in Zenia, Ohio, where he met and married, Ann P. Smith. To this union were born
three daughters, Rita Lynn, Joyce Renee and Kimberly Ann. He was a devoted and loving
husband and father.
Upon graduation from Central State College, with a B.S. Degree in Education, he was
commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army, where he spent 23 years in service
to his country, (his M.O.S. in the military was in Tanks and Logistics). He retired as a LTC. In
1984 after serving tours in Germany, Korea, Vietnam, Panama, Puerto Rico, and numerous
installations in the U. S. He spent 23 wonderful, happy years in the Military with his wife Ann and
his three children. During his last tour of duty in San Antonio, he attended and received a
Master's degree in business from Webster University.' I
