Austin. March •— Tte Texas Senate
Wednesday adopted the House concur-
rent resolution providing for sine die
adjournment nt noon on March 11.
This action was takes through tte
votes of tte prohibition Senators,
largely because the anti-prohibition-
ists sought through a resolution to
commit tte Senate to carrying out
tte legislative program outlined in
Gov. Colquitt’s “prodigal son" mes-
sage.
Tte prohibitionists retorted that tte
anti-probfbitkm Senators, were respon-
sible for existing conditions, having
blocked legislation aad frittered away
time, and they must accept tte con-
sequences. Tte proposition of tte
satis had the effect of solidifying the
pros, and they rusted to the adoption
of tte adjournment resolution.
There Is some talk of reectaslon,
but it is not probable that anything
will come of it. Also it is pointed out
that tte resolution calls for adjourn-
ment on “Monday, March 11." a com-
bihation which wiU not transpire this
year, but it Is probable that “March
11” will control.
Just wbat the Governor may do
as to tte calling of an extra session
Is "up in the air.” It will be neces-
sary to call an extra but it could be
Immediately or, as some suggest. It
might be after tte July election, as
that event may demand some special
action, and Governor Colquitt tea been
a strenuous opponent of too much leg-
islating.
