The Coney Island Shows, which will
fill up the midway at the Houston Fair
and Exposition. Not. 9 to 18, were
given that name by the managers,
Beckman and Gerrety, because they
have a variety of amusements that can
only be found at that famous resort to
which thousands of people go when
they are in New York either on bu»i-
aeaa or pleasure.
To put Coney Island on wheels and
carry it all over the country is a big
undertaking, but when the public have
visited the quarter of a mile laughs,
thrills and spills that make up this
big caravan, all will at least be satis-
fied that if it is not Coney it is near
enough to be highly satisfactory.
To take care of the 32 shows and
rides will tax the capacity of the pres-
ent grounds of the Houston Fair, but
It must be done, as the management is
firmly convinced that there must be
good, clean amusements and of such
a variety at the fair that everybody
will find something to please them.
It requires a special train of 30 cars
and 350 people to keep the Coney
Island at Home shows In operation.
Among the promim nt features are the
Grown^together Twins, Diving Girls
and Seals. Rajah Raboid. Magic King;

Is a premium for the man who has

as if he had twenty and had them en-

One of the good features about the
premium list is that it permits the
products making up a county or com-

gle premiums; in this way farmers
may take their exhibits to their county
or community fair and enter them and
have them sent to Houston as a coun-

say that John Jones has some corn
