Danger of a Crevasse.—We learn
from a gentleman residing in the neigh-
borhood that there is great danger of a
crevasse taking place at John Hoey’s
brick yard, above Carrollton.
The river is now six inches lower than j
the highest water of last year, and from j
two to four and six inches^*—at various
points—lower than that of the previous
yiear. -

and if immediate measures be not takeh
to strengthen the levee, we
have another destructive crevasse—de-
