Participants will learn to use imagination and personal experience as a means of
understanding literature. This workshop will be geared toward helping students lose
inhibitions regarding literature and writing, which will carry over into better scores in
class and on tests. Participants will engage in brainstorming and peer editing, will
produce original poetry or prose, and will utilize word processors to fine-tune their
original work.

3-4 Tablespoons ice -cold water
Stir together flour, salt, and
sugar. With pastry blende^ cut in
shortening until pieces are about
pea-size. Sprinkle water, 1 THrfe-
spoonatatime,over mixture,toss-
ing gently with a fork until all
dough is moistened.
Form dough into a ball. Ona
lightly floured surface, flatten
dough. Roll from center to edge
into 10-inch circle. Fold dough in
half, brush off any excess flour,
then fold in half the other direc-
tion. Lift gently into pie plate and
unfold, fitting crust to plate.

Pumpkin Mixture:
3/4 cup sugar

2 eggs
1 (15 oz. can)pumpkin
1 (12 oz. can) evaporated milk
Mix all ingredients together.
Pour into pie shell. Bake for 15
minutes in preheated 425 degree
oven. Reduce temperature to 350
degrees bake for 40 to 50 min-
utes dr until knife inserted near
center come out clean. Cool and
serve.
Pie Crust:
I ‘A cup sifted flour
11. salt
1/3 cup olive oil
3 tablespoons cold milk
Mix Flour and salt. Pour Ol-
ive OU and milk into a measuring
cup, but do not stir. Add all at once
into the flour mixture and stir until
mixed. Press into a smooth ball
and flatten slightly. Dampen cabi-
net top to prevent bottom piece of
wax paper from slipping. Place
dough between two pieces of
waxed paper and roll gently to
desired size. Peel off top paper
and place crust into a 8 or 9 inch
pie pan. Peel off the paper Flute
the edge.
Thanks again for everyone’s

ward to seeing even more entries

• Walk Across Texas Update
Walk Across Texas is officially
over, now it is time to celebrate!
Make plans now to attend our
grand finale celebration on Thurs-
day, June 10 at 7 pm at the
Comanche City Park. We will rec-
ognize our teams that reached the
830 goals as well as individuals
who led the pack with the most
miles. Prizes will be awarded, but
you have to be there to win!
If you haven’t turned your
miles in, make sure to get with
your team and get those in ASAP.
You can fax your miles and any
forms that haven’t yet been turned
in to Ann Rainey at 325-356-3710.
She must have completed forms
to verify completion of the pro-
gram.
As of Tuesday, 15 teams have
reached the 830 mile mark and
jnost have not logged in week #8.
18 teams met the goal of
726.25 miles for week #7. Teams
logging the most miles were

In medium bowl, beat eggs til
thick and lemon-colored. Stir in
sugar, then add flour, then butter.
Add coconut and pineapple, stir-
ring until well mixed. Pour mix-
ture into unbaked pastry crust.
