factor in causing nocturnal

If a person has heart

decreases the heart’s ability

occur during sleep. Because
alcohol may stimulate heart

There is a tendency for
men in particular to have

THE FIRES OF AFFLICTION
I have chosen thee In the furnace
of affliction. Isaiah 48; 10
Is the great Refiner of souls. He often passes His
vl "gold” through the fires of affliction to purify it and to
make It shine more brightly for His glory. C. H. Spurgeon
said, "Comfort yourself, tried believer, with this thought In
Isaiah 48:10. Let affliction come-God has chosemme.
Sickness may intrude, but I have a balm ready—God has
chosen me. Whatever befalls me in this fiery trial, I know the
Lord permits It because He has set His love upon me. If, be-
liever, you require still greater comfort, remember that you
have the Son of Man with you in the fumacel In that silent
chamber of yours, One whom you love sits by your side, who
will make your bed in your affliction and smooth your pillow.
He said, 'Fear thou not; for I am with thee. Be not dismayed;
for I am thy God’ (Isa. 41:10). His presence is both your com-
fort and safety."'
If you have asked the Savior to use you as a witness to His
grace, don’t think it strange that He has sent a fiery trial to
mold and prepare you for that noble endeavor. The three
friends of Daniel in Nebuchadnezzar's furnace were not hurt
by its flames-they lost only the cords that bound them.
Emerging from their ordeal as heroes of faith, they brought
added glory to God and were promoted to higher service
(Dan. 3:28-30).
Do you find yourself In the midst of adversity 7 God has al-
lowed It for a purpose, so be alert for opportunities to serve
Him. Remember, He chooses His best workers In the crucible
of affliction. -H.Q.B.
When through fiery trials thy pathway shall lie.

The flame shall not hurt thee. I only design
