sacks. The tone of the market was |
reported stronger, both the demand
and price being better.
Blue Rose topped the market at
f“.GO a barrel, while Louisiana Pearl
brought np to $* .'><•. Japan sold at
17,13 tor No. 1 and No 1 grades. Hon-
duras No. 2 brought I" 18.
Telegraphic reports received from
Arkansas today showed that Hondu-
ras brought 37.52 and Blue Rose 37 42
In that State Tuesday.
One of the reasons why all corn
land should be plowed in the fall and
harrowed from time to time is that it
is the <»nly method by which the bud
worm may be held in control. As the
fall season approaches this worm bur-
rows into the ground to a point about
three or tour inches under the sur-
face* and leaving a nicely finished
hole from which th® moth may emerge
in th® spring, proceeds to undergo the
change which will result in the ap-
pearance of the moth to lay the eggs*
which will product®next year’s supply
of worms. Turn these worms to the
surface in the fall and the birds will
get many of them ere spring, more
will die from cold and exposure to
winter weather. The destruction of
these worms now will mean that the
number to appear next year will be
reduced by hundred for every one de-
