reason there are not more trade schools is Ihelr expense.
It costs three times as much to send a boy or girl through
"a_«oeational school as through an ordinary high school.
Two years ago Providence, R. I., experimented with 25
selected boys, giving them 40‘hotirs of vocational work di-
reCtcd toward specific Jobs. The cost was ^10 apiece, but
each of the boys Immediately found a job at pay ranging
