The following are the serial number,
name and address of those registering on
September 12:
With the gins still running night
and day and the good weather making
it possible for the farmers to con-
tinue picking, gin receipts for the
two gins in Bay City began their
climb to the 10,000-bale mark on their
reports for the week ending this aft-
ernoon.
That is to say they have turned out
9,700 bales and the yards are still
crowded.
This is within 300 bales of the total
for the county last year, with consid-
erable cotton still in the field and
housed at the homes of the farmers.
The indicated acre yield

Washington, October 2.—This year’s
cotton crop was estimated at 11,818-
000 equivalent five hundred pound
bales by the department of agricul-
ture today, basing its estimate on the
condition of the crop on September
25 which was 54.4 per cent of a nor-
mal and which forecasts a yield of
154.1 pounds to the acre.
Today’s estimate put the 1918 crop
more than a half million bales above
the total yield last year. A decrease,
however, was shown in the condition
of the crop on September 25, as com-
pared with the corresponding date of
the previous month. The condition
54.4. The August 25 estimate
