that if a person decides to start down
it to church and then changes his
mind he can not turn around and go
back.

—‘So much goods for so much money. But it is worth more than that. You can
spend several dollars for merchandise at a fair price and not get more than fif-
ty cents on each dollar in return. Or you can put the same amount of money
into the same amount of goods at the same fair price and have each dollar buy
several dollars’ worth in satisfaction.

PRESSING THOUGHT
“You should think of the future.”
“I can’t. It’s my girl’s birthday
and I have to think of the present.”
The ladies of the Hog Ford Baptist
Church gave a supper last Saturday
night to raise funds, but they lost
money as they had to feed the Excel-

“When Towser was in his prime he
had an uncanny way of knowing in
advance the sort of game I was go-
ing to hunt. For instance, if I left
the house carrying a rifle, Towser
would dash for the woods and trail
nothing but squirrels. If I started
out with a shotgun,vTowser would
trail nothing but rabbits.

Last Monday afternoon about 1:30
o’clock two boys, aged 12 and 13, re-
spectively, appeared at the Terrell
filling station, and in payment for
gas presented a check drawn on a
lady in Commerce. After question- '
ing the boys Mr. Terrell called the
party in Commerce and was told that
the boy who presented the check was
not her boy, her son being in school
at the time, and asked that she might
talk to him; unabashed the boy, who
claimed to be the younger of the two
tried to make her believe that he was
her son. She asked Mr. Terrell to
ask the boy what her given name
was, and being unable to do so, it
was plain that he was not the boy he
represented himself to be.
The boys were driving a Chevrolet
coupe with the dealer’s number on it,
and questioned about the car they
stated that they had rented the car
from another boy in Commerce and
were on their way to Dallas. Officer
Philpot was called in and after com-
municating with the party owning I
the car, took the boys to Rockwall
and had them locked up for the
night. The boys gave their names as
Willis and Hale.
The Sheriff of Hunt County came
over later and took the boys to Com-
merce where it is probable bond was
arranged.
It was learned later that the young-
er boy had been in trouble before
and that he had only recently tried
