WHY JUST A CHRISTIAN?
Why should a Bible-believer become a member of
the church of Christ? We offer several reasons, with
Scripture found at the end of each, for your wise con-
sideration. Therefore, please take full advantage of
undisturbed quietness of your home, with open Bible
to investigate carefully and prayerfully!
1. Because it was promised by the Scriptural
Builder (MT. 16:18, John 1:3).
2. Because it is founded on the Scriptural founda-
tion (I Cor. 3:11; Eph. 2:20).
3. Because it was founded at the Scriptural locale
(Isa. 2:2-3, Lk. 24:46-49, Acts 2).
4. Because it is Scriptural in name (Rom 16:16, I
Cor. 1:13; Eph 3:14,15).
5. Because it is Scriptural in organization (Acts
14:23, I Tim. 3:1-13; Tit. 1:5-9; Phil 1:1).
6. Because it has the Holy Bible as its only creed (II
Tim. 3:16, 17; II Pet. 1:3).
7. Because it is undenominational (John 17:20-21).
8. Because it teaches and administers Scriptural
baptism (Acts 8:35-39; John 3:3-5; John 3:23; Mark
16:16; Rom 6:34; Acts 2:38; Acte 22:16).
9. Because it gives Bible answers to questions like
Acte 2:27, Acte 94 and Acte 16:30.
10. Because it used the word “only” as the Bible
uses it, teaching that man is not justified by “faith on-
ly” (James 2:24); nor by “grace only” (Titus 2:14);
nor by “baptism only” (I Pet. 3:20,21). Saved by
each, yes; but by either one “only’’-NO.
11. Because it is Scriptural in observance of the
Lord’s Supper (I Cor. 11:23-30; Acte 20:7; Acte 2:42.
12. Because it has Scriptural music in worship
(Eph. 5:19; Col. 3:16).
13. Because it is blood-bought (Acte 20:28; I Cor.
6:19,20; I Pet. 1:18,19).
14. Because SALVATION is in Christs church (Eph.
1:22,23 ; 5:23-27; Col. 1:13, Acte 2:41,47; I Cor. 15:24).
Friend, why not obey the gospel of Christ (Rom.
1:16, II Thes 1:7-9)? Sin condemns your soul eternal-
ly, but God has Given His Son making it possible for
condemning sin to be set at nought through obedience
to the Son’s gospel.
There are many human-founded religions that con-
fuse the human mind until one objectively studies
God’s Holy Bible. Is it possible for a sinner (just one)
to become saved without Christ being the Saviour
(John 14:8, Acte 4:12)? Each sinner that Christ saves,
what does Christ do with that saved soul (Acte 2:47,
Eph. 1 22,23; Col. 1: IS)? Now, be truthful, is it Scrip-
turally possible for a sinner anywhere in the universe
to become saved without the Lord adding that soul to
the church?
We become a member of that same church today,
the one that Christ built, heads, and is coming to get
and take to the Father, by doing today what they did
in the First Century A.D. Thereby, we become what
they became (Acte 11:26). Nothing to join. A gospel to
obey from the heart (Rom. 8:17,18), a life to be lived
(II Cor. 3:3) and an inheritance to received (I Pet.
1:34).
