to that effect in her-letter ... we ha-re certainly had r
turmoil here ... had an order from the air transport co
mand in cincinatti to gixe our whole class two hour check
rides in basic trainers ... this process kept getting m
and more huddled as the days went on ... some of the
had as -nany as five and six checks, and the pilots
ally started telling they the t they were planning
washing out a part of the class ... this of course
hard on everybody's nerves, pErticularly when we ne~r:
beard any results from the rides ... the rilot would
-ou your ride was sc tisfactory and two hours later you'
e ordered back-to transition for a ride with an e tr
S ifferent pilot who wanted entirely different maneun
.. for a while this all seened very silly to me, as
didn't have the faintest idea that they rei lly intenr
elininating us after all the time and -oney they sr
training us, but yesterday it turned out that two
had be-en reco ,,ended for elimin tion and seven 'nnr'

the former weaf '-. -A br nancy love, and. cochran's out-

cases have had anything like this, so we keep wonder:
ust what is what ... i was so reliezred to be back on
.uty i felt like so.neone had removed a large weight
:y head ... it's awful nerve wracking to be in a situat
hat you don't understand ... i hope i get a trip tomor-
ow ... just had orders to go get two hours solo in a b ,
t 7 a m in the morning, and that should be sore fun ..
obby and i just got back from eating two -ery raw step

too) from sweetwater ... they resigned yesterday and we'
ere trying to decide whether to go to work for america
