MESSAGE
OF
conqpeqation Beth yeshupun
A BELATED THANK YOU!
On Selichot Eve, September 27, some 21 artists,
sculptors, craftsmen, and other creative Beth Yes-
hurunites added a little “something extra” to our en-
joyment of this lovely evening. They filled our Museum
of Judaica with over 50 outstanding art works, and
frankly, we were all very impressed by the tremendous
amount of talent we have right here in our congregation.
So, in behalf of all those who were delighted by the
exhibit, and all those who regretfully had to miss it, may
we say thank you again to these contributing members:
Sally Yosowitz Anhalt, Harriet Babchick, Allan K. Bell,
Florence Bernstein, Pat Bobkoff, Saralee Cohn, Adele
Davis, Marcelle Elias, Dick Emery, Efim Frumin,
Dorothy Hutner, Minnie Z. Jones, Carrie Marsh, Minnie
Meisler, Joe Pfeffer, Burton Reckies, Judith-Ann Saks,
Beryl Samuelson, Jean Samuelson, Irving Wadler and
Jewell Zimmerman.

This memorable photograph shows the original first grade
class of the newly-formed Beth Yeshurun Day School back in
1954, with their teacher Golda Geller Baker. Baker will be
honored at the special ESP Teacher Appreciation Shabbat to
be held on Friday, October 24 at 6 p.m.
Dr. Helen Schaffer and Bill Dinerstein, called on Rose
Altman to permit the school to use part of the bequest left to
Beth Yeshurun by her late husband Jake Altman. This money
was used to furnish the first grade.
