woman, I feel it
praising of G-d.
As I pray together with my friends and family, I feel a connection
to the past and a hope for the future. I hope that I will continue to
find new meaning and feeling in prayer so that I may share my love
and knowledge with those around me, now and for many years to
come.
from Poland and Israel, where they participated, with 7500 other
Jews from 42 different countries, in a two week experience, known
as the March of the Living”. The trip, designed for senior high
school students, provided a very intense, structured and educational
opportunity for them to learn about the Holocaust, and culminated
in Israel in time to celebrate its 50th anniversary. They traveled with
a group that included 15 Houston teenagers, several of them
members of Beth Yeshurun. Dr. Gottesman and Dr. Rubenfeld will
be talking about their experience on “The March” following the
Museum Minyan on Saturday, June 13th. The Museum Minyan
meets from 9-11 a.m. every other Saturday morning. Anyone
wishing to learn more about Minyan or hear their talk on the
“March of the Living” is invited to attend.
Prayer for Travelers
Rabbi David and Marcie Rosen will be taking 30 congregants to
Israel from June 14-26. We wish them a pleasant trip.
May it be thy will, O Lord my G-d and G-d of my fathers to conduct
me in peace, to uphold me in peace, ^nd to lead me in life, joy and peace
unto the haven of my desire. O deliver me from every enemy, ambush
and hurt by the way, and from all afflictions that visit and trouble the
world. Send a blessing upon the work of my hands. Let me obtain
grace, loving kindness and mercy in thine eyes and in the eyes of all who
behold me. Hearken to the voice of my supplications; for thou art a
G-d who hearkens unto prayer and supplication. Blessed art thou, O
Lord, who hearkens unto prayer.
“To Pray as a Jew”
Continued from page 1
Because of my love of music, prayer is most meaningful to me in
the form of song. I can think of no better way to express our
thoughts and emotions. Music truly captures the spirit of our prayers
and enhances the meaning of our words. One of my greatest joys has
been leading my fellow congregants in prayer. As a young Jewish

LJvery day is an opportunity to live life. To treasure
everything you have, and everything you are. Take
time to appreciate life. Visit a relative. Read to someone.
Take a long walk. Send everything you can to charity.
Always remember that life is for living, and should be
lived to the fullest.
