Saturday on account of the illness
Wichita Falls, of Mrs' Llza Whltfteld, who was

The D.S. Club had a progresf
sive house party beginning Friday

A three course dinner was

B. Henderson. A slumber party
at Luevlan Gardner’s was next
on program, and breakfast was
served at the home of Betty Jo
Wright.
Saturday morning Mrs. Hender-
son carried the girls for a ride
and they were then served lunch-
eon at Mary Norvell's. Regular
business of the club was attended
to after lunch and another thea-
tre party attended Saturday after-
noon, followed by dinner at Mar-
garet McNee’s. The club adjourn-
' ed after dinner.

Choir which has been earning for
itself many words of praise this
year, under the direction of Mr.
Kenneth E. Runkel is to have a
prominent part in a Choir Festi-
val tonight in Jacksonville at the
M. E. Church as part of the
commencement exercises of Lon
Morris College. This program will
be of special interest to friends
of the local choir, many of whom
will motor to Jacksonville for it.
Mr. Runkel, who is head of music
at Lon Morris College, is also di-
rector of the Aeolian Choir, which
was heard in Henderson-
weeks ago, and also the
Choral Club; these three
assisted by singers from
Jacksonville and Tyler will make
a mammoth chorus of one hundred
voices, accompanied by the organ,
two pianos and a trumpet. A. H.
Gardner and Albert Griffin, with
Mrs. Runkel will be heard in
special parts. Miss Elizabeth
Young will be one of the pianists.
The program will begin promptly
at eight o’clock.

Mrs. Reed is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. C. V. Cochran and
is a graduate of Henderson High
School. Mr. Reed is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. J. R. Reed of Lufkin but
has made his home in Henderson
for some time.

The Auxiliary of the Central
Presbyterian church will not have
a regular meeting Monday after-
noon due to the fact that the
chv ch is undergoing some repair
work. Special work in committees
is being attended to by members
of the auxiliary.
