The Mothers, predicted to loee
by several runs, upset the
youngsters 16-12 in a game that
was a circus and a ball game
all rolled up in one.
Trailing 4 to 1 in the third in-
ning, the Mothers become dis-
satisfied with the officiating,
which had been entirely too
honest to suit them; so they
called in Mrs. C. J. Akin to call
it behind the plate. From that
point on it was a different sto-
ry in favor of the Mothers. Lit-

Turner Donates
Operating Table To
Madison Hospital
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Turner of
Navasota donated a much need-
ed operating room table for the
Madison County Hospital last
week.
The operating room table,
valued at $1,000, was given by
the Turners as a memorial to
his father, Henry A. Turner, and
mother, Mrs. Pearl E. Turner,
both of whom were long-time
residents of Madison county and
Madisonville.
Both patients and doctors will
be benefited by the use of the
specially equipped operating ta-
ble which will afford greater
comfort and convenience for the
patient and enable doctors to
perform their work better and
easier.
An article in the Madison Me-
teor said “Not only the doctors
and hospital staff, but the en-
tire community appreciate the
generosity of Mr. and Mrs. Turn-
