by friends from Winnie, Texas. Carol and Walter Shaw and

took them to Mexico on Saturday, then on Sunday they
drove up to Orange Grove to attend church. They spent the
day at Lake Corpus Christi. The Shaws left on Monday to
return home exhausted but having had a marvelous time.
Visiting with Martha and L.W. Parchman were their
children, Robert from Port Arthur and Cindy and Kevin
McCoy from Austin. The fellows did some hunting and the
girls did alot of talking and visiting. They also got to visit
with grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. L.W. Parchman Sr.
Martha and Luke moved here from Somerset and also
had Tom and Rita Ellison, Roy Brown, Brad Wood, A.T.
Alcorta, Leon Harris, and Ronnie Welch dropping in and
out intermittingly through the weekend. These people were
in Freer to purchase the old fire truck for Somerset.
Ethel Buchanan has just returned from spending the
weekend in Corpus with her two grandsons whom she has
not seen in several months.
Bob Atkins who has just graduated from the United States
Army Military Police School at Fort McClellan, Alabama,
and will be stationed at Fort Hood, Texas.
