Victoria—Emil F. Bonorden,
80, years and 20 days, of 1006
E. San Antonio, Victoria, a re-
tired grocer and farmer, died at
2:35 p.m. Friday, May 13, 1966
in a Victoria hospital following
an extended illness.
Mr. Bonorden had lived in
Victoria 24 years, coming here
from Shiner. He was born April
23, 1886, in Hallettsville. He
*was a member of St. Mary’s
Catholic Church.
He owned and operated a re-
tail liquor store on Santa Rosa
Street for many years and also
owned and operated a grocery

in Williamson County July 10,
1894. He was married in St.
Mary’s Catholic Church Oc-
tober 11, 1920 to Minnie Zapa-
lac, who is listed among the
survivors.

She was married to Charlie
Roe we in Westhoff in 1915. He
preceded her in death.
Survivors are a daughter,
Mrs. J. D. Neyland of Westhoff
and a grandchild.
She reached the age

Funeral services were held at
9:15 a.m. Monday, May 16 from
McCabe-Carruth Funeral Home
chapel and at 9:30 a.m. from St.
Mary’s Catholic Church. The
Rev. Wallis Stiles officiated.
A rosary was recited at 7:30
p.m. Sunday at the funeral
home chapel.
Burial was in Resurrection
Cemetery under the direction of
McCabe-Carruth Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife,
Mrs. Theresa Bonorden; three
daughters, Mrs. Elvira Buss and
Mrs. Kenneth Bianchi, both of
Victoria, and Mrs. Jodie Vahalik
of Bloomington; a son, Emil Jr.
of Victoria; four sisters, Mrs. C.
Also surviving are three
sons, Jerry of Lolita, Daniel of
Yoakum, and Joseph Dvorak of
Houston; four daughters, Mrs.
Elwood (Julia) Perkins of Sul-
phur, La., Mrs. Orin (Della)
Pustejovsky of Sublime, Mrs.
James (Patricia) Tesch of
Houston, Mrs. Elton (Jose-
phine) Koenning of Lolita; two
brothers, Adam and Andrew
Dvorak, both of Angleton; one
sister, Mrs. Emma Pippert of
Houston; 26 grandchildren and
one sister, Mrs. Edwin (Thekla)
Pohl who died July 3, 1960.

Hallettsville — Funeral ser-
vices for Joseph A. Dvorak of
Route 4, Hallettsville, were held
at the Kubena Funeral Home
at 9:30 a.m. and St. Mary’s
Catholic Church at 10 Friday,
May 20 with the Rev. Henry
Psencik officiating. Burial was
in the Wied Cemetery.
He passed away Wednesday,
May 18, 1966 at 11:45 a.m. in
the Veterans Hospital, Houston,
at the age of 71 years, 10
months and 8 days.
Mr. Dvorak, a veteran of
World War I, and a member of
the American Legion was born

were held at the Lamprecht
Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday,
May 17 at 2:00 p.m. for Mrs.
Charlie Roewe, 72, of Westhoff,
who died Monday, May 16,
1966 at 2:35 p.m. at the Laster
Nursing Home. The Rev. Mel-
vin Belleu, pastor of St. John
Lutheran Church of Westhoff
officiated. Burial was in the
Westhoff Cemetery.
Pallbearers were L. C., H. H..
Ernest C. and Chester Neyland,
W. F. Irwin and Fred Lynch.
