BAT MITZVAH
Annie London
Annie Leigh London, daughter of Shari
and Jeff London of Dallas, will be called to the
Torah as a bat mitzvah at 9:30 a.m. Saturday,
March 3, 2018, at Congregation Shearith Israel.
Rabbi Adam Roffman will officiate. Annie has
twin sisters, Rachel and Grace, 15. She is the
granddaughter of Gail Weisblatt of Dallas, Herb
Weisblatt and Rosemary Rector of Fort Worth
and Irene and Ray London of Dallas. She is the
great-granddaughter of Eula Fischl of Dallas
and Florence Weisblatt of Fort Worth.
Annie attends Parish Episcopal School, where
she’s in the seventh grade. She plays soccer and
lacrosse for her school teams. She also loves to
hang out with her friends and family.
For her mitzvah project, Annie volunteered
at Moss Haven Farm on the school grounds of
Moss Haven Elementary. It is supported by the community and relies on volunteers to keep the garden growing.
Annie also spent time with residents of CHAI.
A Shabbat dinner hosted by aunts and uncles will kick off the celebration. Following the bat mitzvah
service, Annie’s grandparents will host a Kiddush luncheon. Annie’s parents will host a party in her honor at
Brookhaven Country Club. The farewell brunch will be hosted by Annie’s great-grandmothers.
The Londons look forward to welcoming family and friends from California, Colorado, Florida, Maryland,
Missouri, Austin and Houston.

and Suellen and A.J. Rosmarin of Dallas. Hallie’s great-grandparents
are Cissy and Leonard Held of Birmingham, Alabama, the late Jeanne
and Harold Gilbert of Houston, the late Max and Esther Rosmarin

B’NAI MITZVAH
Chase Halpern
Joshua Halpern
Chase Harrison and Joshua Ryan Halpern, sons
of Melissa and Ben Halpern of Plano, will be called
to the Torah as b’nai mitzvah at 9:30 a.m. Saturday,
March 3,2018, at Congregation Anshai Torah in Pla-
no. Rabbi Stefan Weinberg will officiate. Chase and
Josh are the brothers of Blake, 16, and Emma, 11.
They are the grandsons of Elaine and Sam Klapholz
ofPlano and Sandy and Barry Halpern of Houston.
Chase is an eighth-grade honors student at Fowl-
er Middle School. He is a percussionist in the band,
and a member of the Math and Science Team and
the Debate Club. In addition, Chase is an avid golfer
and has been playing since he was 4 years old. Chase
hopes to earn his Eagle Scout and has been work-
ing very hard toward this goal. He is currently a Star
Scout in Boy Scout Troop 261 where he is also a patrol
leader.
Josh is a seventh-grade honors student at Fowler Middle school. Josh is a member of the football and track teams. He
is also an active participant in Student Council, where he currently serves as the historian. Josh loves to watch sports,
play fantasy football and loves history. Josh also has been working to earn his Eagle Scout and is currently a Tenderfoot
in Troop 261.
For Chase’s bar mitzvah project, he organized a book donation to the Children’s Hospital of Plano. The books were
chosen for all ages and reading levels and were distributed throughout the hospital and clinic waiting rooms. Chase chose
this project because he hopes that the children who are visiting and staying in the hospital will find enjoyment and escape
through reading when they are facing difficult situations.
For Josh’s bar mitzvah project, he organized a donation of birthday boxes to Hope’s Closet. Hope’s Closet is a local
charity that serves the critical needs of homeless children living in shelters throughout North Texas. The birthday box
program is designed so that children who would not typically receive a birthday gift have the opportunity to be cel-
ebrated.
Following the b’nai mitzvah service a Kiddush luncheon will be hosted by Elaine and Sam Klapholz. On Saturday
evening, Melissa and Ben Halpern will host a party in their sons’ honor at Gleneagles Country Club. The Halperns look
forward to welcoming family and friends from Kansas City, Atlanta, Houston, New Jersey, Ohio and Rhode Island.
