The first of this year Barton
Davis moved to McKeesport, Pa.,
to work with the church there,
supported by the Highland Park
congregation of Ft. Worth, Texas.
When he arrived in McKees-
port he found a group already at
work. They had built, with their
own hands and money, a nice
brick building which will seat a-
bout one hundred and sixty; which,

' - ■,
At the present time we only
have four or five full-time preach-
ers in the entire state, and two of
them are located In the Washing-
ton, D. C. area. Right now, I know
of four congregations In need of
located evangelists.
Two of these win need some fi-
nancial help from the missionary
minded churches of other loca-
tions. X will be glad to give furth-
er information to any preacher
interested in coming to Virginia,
or to any congregation interested
in supporting a Virginia mission.
With very best wishes.
Yours In the one faith,
Thomas H. Tarbet.

Writes Of Job In
Virginia Sector
Dear Olan:
I hope to sss you in April or
May, as I will be In Tans for
those two months conducting
meetings. It is also my hope that
X can turn the “eyes of Texas’* to
the mission field of Virginia, to
some extent. ,
as they would like to do.
Last month the attendance for
the morning service averaged a-
bout forty, evening, about thirty-
five and the mid-week class has
grown until we had thirty-five
the last meeting.
They also support the printing
of articles In the city newspaper
as well as other advertising work
as they see fit.
A class for young folks is held
each Tuesday evening. Those at-
tending are not members of the
church and their parents know
nothing of the truth. There are
about twenty in this group, and
we are hoping to win some of them
I and their parents soon.
“The McKeesport members want
i grow in this
great metropolitan area, I want to
see It grow, Highland Fart does
and most of all the lord expects
it to. Therefore, we ask you to re-
member us when you pray,” Bro-
ther Davis’ report closed.

“This building is truly a credit
to the small group of thirty-five
members,” Brother Davis said.
They are stUl laboring during
their off-hours to complete the
basement so they can turn more
of their time and efforts to sav-
ing souls. When fully completed
the building will be about the best
In the Pittsburgh area.
The Pittsburgh area has a popu-
lation of about two million souls;
depending on where you draw the
area line. In this area there are
five small congregations with a
total of about two hundred mem-
bers. "This means one member of
the New Testament church to ten
thousand lost souls. What a chal-
lenge!," Brother Darts urged.
He wrote: "Compare this to some
of the Southern cities. Abilene has
a normal population of thirty
thousand: Nashville has a swell-
ed limit of two hundred thousand.
In comparison with the ratio here
Abilene would have only three
members of the church while
Nashville would have a small
group of twenty. Brethren, you
cannot realise the size of our task
unless you have been to such pla-
ces. There are only three full time
\ evangelists In this field; almost
ft million souls for each. We hum-
bly ask that you pray for us."

Mr. Olan Hicks, Editor,
Christian Chronicle,
/ Abilene, Texas.
Dear Brother Hicks:
I desire to help spread the Gos-
pel In sections where it Is little
known and would like to get In
touch with someone somewhere
who could arrange details for a
meeting in the late summer. I
want to hold at least two meet-1 ■
Ings without obligation to any- to see the church
one but of course want them to
be In places that would be strict-
ly mission.
I prefer places In Western or
North-Western states. There are
perhaps faithful members who
are living In towns or cities where
the Cause has not been planted
and who could help arrange such
a meeting. I would like to hear
from them and see what arrange-
ments we can make.
As to my soundness In the faith
I refer anyone to the Washington
Street Church here with whom I
have labored for nearly two years
and with whom I will continue to
labor for the next year; also to
Dudley Avenue Church In Texar-
kana.
