What Does Your Wife Do?
Paris, Aug. 23.—The most gruesome
murder of all the recent series which
have shocked Paris and utterly mysti-
. fied the best detectives in France, was
( 1 I uncovered Monday when a fisherman,
seining the Seine, hauled in a sack con-
taining a pair of feminine legs, several
milfc from tbc spot where, earlier in the
day another fisherman had brought up
a womarV t'irro.
An autopsy Monday evening showed
that the ilwcovt-ries were of the same
bodi and further proved that a pa:r <>f
feminine, nuns, found in the river s< v-
< ru! days t <0 at Choisy le Roi belonged
to the victim '.be age is established es
hetWM.*n 17 and 20.
As night fell twenty rowboats shoved
out into the stream at various points
pear Paris and let down dragnets for
the head and the police believe it must
be found if the murderer is not to go
undetected.
The mystery is as difficult as any the
police have had to tackle since the war.
No disappearance has been reported. The
arms and hands alone revealed the
slightest clue as to the social status of
the victim. She is believed to hav-
beea a woman of leisure, if not of the
well-to-do, class, for her delicate, tap-
ering i ngers bore no signs of work. Yet.
neither were there any signs that the
Jnoman had ever worn any rings or brace-
lets.
