For nearly two years the saints of this congregation in
Tegucigalpa. Honduras, met under the trees. They, therefore,
fully appreciate the blessing of being able to worship out of the
rain. On the left hand of the picture from the door outward is
the area reserved for their proposed feeding program and for
clinics. They have 100 children certified as being malnourished.
Lovingly, they built this building with their own hands.
Pause for Just One Moment Before Christinas...
and picture yourself in the place of the Christian mother of the child prctured below.

NEEDED TO BEGIN THE FEEDING PROGRAM
1. Refrigeration and other equipment will have to be bought at a minimum cost
of $3000. Money has already been raised and sent to provide the cement floor and
finish the septic tank.
2. A donor will have to be found who will be able and willing to send $12 50 per
month to feed a child ONE BALANCED MEAL PER DAY in this new FAMILY
AID PROGRAM.
3. And then 99 More! (Nowhere in this copy is it mentioned that one can foster
parent a child in India for $22 per month in one of the JAF Christian Relief
Homes.)
What a blessed surprise it will be to
those parents of children with
bloated bellies when ’hey ze’ ’he

enough."
Perhaps you are one of ’hose who
can make this Christmas time a
joyous season for the saints in
America's second poorest country

would like to help, but are insure of

and picture yourself in the place of the Christian mother of the child pictured beta’
Suppose you were a mother around 30 years of age, but were prematurely old
from the worries of trying just to keep body and soul together. Suppose you
worked long hours each day making tortillas under a shed in your back yard
Suppose you then had to go and peddle them out, and then come home to try and
be a mother. Suppose the money still did not stretch to fill the stomachs of your
little family. Suppose you did your washing o your hands, and your broom was
used to sweep a dirt floor. And if you had a “bathroom” it would be outdoors
beside the house. Life would be a hard struggle justto survive.
Suppose that for Christmas you would hope to celebrate with just enough for
everybody to eat. Perhaps you and your husband could make the best of it, but
then there are the little ones who do not understand, like Ana's little one pictured
here.
To add to the hurt, imagine that one of your children was severely hare-lipped
such as the one I am holding in this picture. It may be that the surgery could be
done free, but how could you take time from tortilla-making to comfort and care
for the little one?
It would be hard to put your little ones to bed this Christmas season and not
worry about yourself and your children.
Can you imagine the wonderful feeling if someone notified you that you and your
children were going to be taken care oP
We intend to notify this mother that help is on the way. But we need help to feed
the other 99 children in the feeding program about to be started by the church in
Tegucigalpa, Honduras. This church, Iglesia de Cristo en Colonia San Jose, is
one of two congregations I have seen in the whole world whose benevolent room
is as large as their auditorium!
But, until we help, it is all on paper. They rejected the offer of a world-famous,
organization in favor of working with brethren An American Phoebe—Sue
Mozley—is there offering her help free
The brethren in this poor church live in houses that approximate the old smoke-
houses we used to have on the farm
